Action Unloaders Completes Biomass Project
October 12th, 2009 by Action Unloaders
Action Unloaders has recently completed a multi-unit biomass reclaim project in the Midwestern United States. The Action Unloaders’ scope of supply, coupled with the Tank Connection bolted RTP (rolled, tapered panel) silos, included the design, manufacture, and installation of the premiere Planetaire flat-bottom relcaimer. In lieu of the multiple biomass products being used as fuel, Action Unloaders has provided variable speed drive units for each of the reclaimers. These variable speed units allow plant personnel to vary the discharge rates depending on the day’s supply of feed stock, yet maintain a system of completely identical reclaimers. This flexible design promotes interchangeable products, parts, and operational ease. For more information, contact sales@actionunloaders.com
GLASS LIFE CYCLE COST PROVEN INVALID
October 12th, 2009 by Justin McKeeFor years, glass dealers in the U.S. have been using the “Life Cycle Cost Analysis” worksheet in an attempt to justify the added costs and benefits of a glass fused to steel bolted tank. The fundamental flaw in the worksheet is the fact that the replacement cost of the glass tank was not incorporated into the equation. This is due to the fact that glass dealers claim that their tanks never need to be recoated when in reality the truth is that glass tanks CANNOT be recoated. When the replacement cost of a glass tank is incorporated into the equation it is easy to see that a FUSION BOND coated tank is the BEST value.
