The proprietary fusion powder coating systems offered by Tank Connection are thermoset powders that utilize low-molecular-weight solids that go through a fusion and chemical reaction to form higher-molecular-weight polymers. Once the powder is applied, the bolted steel panels enter an oven where the resins, pigments and other reactive agents crosslink to produce a high molecular weight binder system, resulting with a tough, durable coating system designed for high chemical resistance, corrosion resistance, flexibility, chip resistance, weatherability and UV protection. Tank Connection’s thermoset processes are irreversible. Once the curing and crosslink takes place, the powder coating can not be returned to its original form by any means. 

Tank Connection’s flagship facility features a state-of-the-art coating line, over 200 yards (182.88 m) in length. In 2015, a second, larger coating line was installed to keep up with skyrocketing demand for bolted RTP tanks. Fusion 5500 FBE™ (fusion bond epoxy) is the premium interior coating system ever developed for dry bulk storage applications. This coating technology provides superior flow promotion and abrasion resistance. It is fused to the substrate primer and cannot be scratched off independent of the base coat.

AQUA AGT 2020™

Tank Connection’s glass-fused-to-steel product line represents the next evolution in coating technology. Aqua AGT (Advanced Glass Technology) 2020™ is formulated to address problems witnessed in glass coatings provided by other suppliers in water storage applications. The proprietary formulation process involved prevents fishscaling and spalling. The two major layers of glass coatings receive a two-fire process, not one-fire process. It is this two-fire glass process that ensures the highest quality, glass-fused-to-steel porcelain enamel finish available. The coating is flexible enough to accommodate the expansion and contraction of bolted steel water tanks.
